Chemical name for sodium hydroxide, is the basic chemical raw materials. Pure product is colorless transparent crystal. Pure solid sheet alkali is white translucent, block, flake, rod, granular, brittle; Pure liquid is colorless transparent liquid.

Properties: Solid sheet alkali has strong hygroscopicity, easily soluble in water, exothermic when dissolved, aqueous solution is alkaline, there is a slippery feeling; Soluble in ethanol and glycerin; Insoluble in acetone, corrosive to fiber, skin, glass, ceramics and so on. Reacts with aluminum and zinc metals, nonmetallic boron and silicon to release hydrogen; Disproportionation reaction occurs with chlorine, bromine, iodine and other halogens; Neutralizing with acids to form salt and water.

Scope of application: 
1. Used for papermaking, cellulose pulp production;
2. Used for soap, synthetic detergent, synthetic fatty acid production and refining animal and vegetable oils.
3. Textile printing and dyeing industry used as cotton desizing agent, refining agent and mercerizing agent.
4. Chemical industry for the production of borax, sodium cyanide, oxalic acid, phenol, etc.
5. In the petroleum industry is used to refine petroleum products and in oil field drilling mud. It is also used in the production of alumina, zinc metal and copper metal surface treatment, glass, enamel, leather, medicine, dyes and pesticides.
6. Food grade products are used as acid neutralizer in the food industry, can be used as peel agent of citrus, peach, etc., can also be used as empty bottles, empty cans and other containers of detergent, as well as decolorization agent, deodorizer.
7. Can also be used as an alkaline desiccant.
